Cosplay Finds Take 2

Posted on August 1, 2011September 12, 2021 by Chris Kincaid

There are places you can buy costumes, but the most amazing ones are made by the cosplayer. Of course, many of the worst cosplays are also hand made. It takes some cash to do it well, but anything you enjoy is worth the cost.  Sometimes it’s hard to tell the “pros” from the casual cosplayer, but it doesn’t really matter.

Here is another collection of favorites I found in my forays online. They range from Bleach to Chobits and to the ever present Final Fantasy.

This is a very image heavy post: 14 cosplay goodness.

This looks just like the computer generated Miku Hatsune...only more alive and cuter
This is a detailed Lulu from Final Fantasy 10. She looks more approachable than that Lulu though...
This Chii captures the character's innocence and ethereal feel.
This cosplayer went all out with this homemade Midna costume. Very sexy and detailed. The shoes....ouch.
Here is another Midna. Looks like boredom has set in
I'm Jesse. I'm James. They look like they just stepped out of a Pokemon Cartoon
Other than the plush Pikachu, this is a good Ashe. Pity someone can't make a lifelike pikachu somehow.
A spot on Sakura from Naruto
The Death Note gang shopping for sweets
This Hiyori cosplayer stepped right out of a Bleach episode
A cute Nel
Mr Hat and Clogs himself...makes you wonder what exactly he is up to.
A sexy Suì-Fēng...just don't mess with her.
Bleach's Ruki Kuchiki during her imprisonment.

I am not certain if I translated your comment correctly from Filipino, but here are a few suggestions on how to make a Hatsune Miki costume:

        1) Find a gray dress shirt at a local thrift store and cut off the sleeves. Find the right colored tie to go with it.
        2) Make a pair of Arm Warmers: here is a tutorial: http://xvampireslovexx.deviantart.com/art/Arm-Warmers-A-Tutorial-95108669
        3) Make a box pleat skirt: http://leafytreetopspot.blogspot.com/2012/03/crayon-box-pleat-skirt-tutorial-part-1.html
        4) Find the various accessories, wigs, and other details in a thrift store or online.

Amazon does offer a full costume that you may be able to rush order. It is expensive, however.

I am not an expert on cosplay or costumes, but I hope this helps!

There are some amazing cosplayers out there. The best are making their own costumes. DeviantArt has many of these people.
